MusOpen – Music to your Ears
MusOpen is a non-profit focused on improving access and exposure to music by creating free resources and educational materials. The site provides recordings, sheet music, and textbooks to the public for free, without copyright restrictions.
As their manifesto states, their goal is “to set music free”, and set music free they do: With literally hundreds of recordings, sheet music scans in PDF format, and a live radio that plays non-stop classical music, MusOpen is an excellent resource for music lovers, educators or users who need high quality recordings for remixing or use in other works.
You can easily search the database by composer, performer, title of the work, instrument, style, or era. You can listen to the recordings or peruse the sheet music online, or you can download them to your computer, or any other device for that matter. All recordings and PDFs are distributed under generous CC licenses or are in the Public Domain.
