Dynamo – An Indie Sci-Fi Web Series that will blow your mind

Using nearly exclusively the free Blender 3D and compositing software and a lot of talent, the Karma Pirates crew have created DYNAMO – a Sci-Fi web series that defies explanation and that has to be seen to be believed.

Be warned that in Dynamo conventional story structures are thrown to the wind, and the action jumps back and forth in time and space, from character to character, and from reality to what may or may not be surreal dream sequences.

That said, overall and in general the series gets an AAA from us for being Amazingly Awesomely Ambitious and because Dynamo works very well, is immensely entertaining, funny, exciting, has great production values, and is a much better view than most of the tired, unimaginative, trope-choked rubbish much more resourceful and mainstream studios pass off as Sci-Fi nowadays (-*cough*- Transformers -*cough*-).

Created over the span of 4 years, the web series currently has 5 episodes and hopefully there are many more to come.

Catch Dynamo on the Karma Pirates website or on their YouTube channel. You can also see “making of” documentaries of individual episodes, behind the scenes goodies and extras on their Facebook page.

I was wondering what hard work + Blender could look like…
